Indian Forest Service Examination 2011

Union Public Service Commission

India is one of the First countries in the world to have stated scientific management of its forests. The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Indian Forest Service Examination 2011 commencing from 09/07/2011. The examination will be held at various centers across the country.

Educational Qualification

Candidate should be Graduate from recognized University atleast one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age Limit: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 01/07/2011.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fir according to the Regulations given in Appendix-II of Rules for the Indian Forest Services Examination, 2011 published the Gazette of India dated 19/03/2011.

Number of Attempts:

The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows:

General Category: Four
Other Backward Classes: Seven
Scheduled Castes (SCs)/ Scheduled Tribes (STs): No Limit

Candidates are required to apply online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on http://www.upsconline.nic.in .

Application Fee:

Rs. 100/- for who are applying online & Rs. 200/- for who are applying offline. Female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of Fees.

Last Date for apply online: 18/04/2011 till 11.59 P.M.
